Only google search engine is effected by installing a program
Searching through google for a program which I needed for some purpose and when I downloaded the program and installed it, with in a second it has affected google search engine. Everything in my computer was working properly rather than google search engine, guess what I tried Yahoo, Msn, Ask, AltaVista and all the search engine but nothing happened to them only google search engine is being effected.
Below you will find the pictures of effected google search engine, which is very shocking and I tried with many anti virus like mcafee, nortern, kaspersky, and different anti viruses, some spyware, malware program too, but I didn't get any solution rather than formatting and reinstalling the windows which I have done it (No other way). Before reinstalling the windows I thought why not I share this thing with people around the world and make aware them of it.
In the picture I just typed "google search" for just example, if you type anything it shows the same effect. Below you can see the left side of google search and right side (the sponsored links) of google search. For full image click here to view it

One the left hand side if I click on the first google search index link, it pop up a new window with a different link. For example the links shows http://www.google.com/ (the 1st one) and when I clicked it goes to the link http://63.243.173.168/click.php?c=15b031630d66c6a8eeb410520700 saying that "old session or bad record". Some links is very dangerous for the windows which might crash it or fully efffected with virus. On the right hand side it gives the same problem as like on the left hand side and the sponsor links looks so different as if some one has stoped the sponsor to view there ads on google search.
Not only with the google search engine, it also has effected the gmail accout ( google mail account ). Whenever I tried to login in my gmail account, it doesn't allow me to enter in it specially on internet explorer than I tried on google chrome browser it shows the same problem. I thought program only shows problem with google search engine now it shows with gmail account also and I thought how dangerous program it is. I put my username and my password in http://www.gmail.com/ and press sign in and it show the page with google search bar, down of it written "Page not Found" as you can see in the picture
I tried my hard and soul to find it out what is the problem behind it by searching through document folder like temporary internet folder, local drive, application data, my document and so on. Going to windows/program drive folder searching each and every file deeply and deeply but the results shows fail signal. What mistake I have done is when I have run that programme and my firewall pop up and I have accepted the programme to pass through Internet. What I want to tell people that never ever download file like "serial.exe", "crack.exe", "run.exe", whenever you pop up for downloading "exe" file please don't download it and run it. If you ever run a exe file do not allow your firewall to pass through internet, if the programme is for internet purpose first justify it than allow it to pass through internet, i recommend it. Because I have done this twice and I didn't get any other way rather than formating the windows. If anyone know the solution for this problem please share with us.

aw man,
An exe. file is whats called a executable.
when you click on an exe file it starts a series of triggers such as starting a program or simply shutting down your computer. Its made by a generated code.
So my friend, when you download things, make sure you know what your downloading.
thanks for sharing, I understand what you have said my it didn't effect my computer, it only effected google search engine. I was attacked my many virus and I have solved it but this virus I have seend it first time.
By the way thanks for telling it, it would be great if you mention your name.
After downloading any files from the internet please check the file first by scaning with antivirus and uploading to virustotal.com to see what other antivirus say about the file. :)
thanks smot for posting, I am using total protection mcafee 2009 this anti virus program is really helpful, whenever I download a file it automatically checked it and report me everything whenever it contain virus, I don't need to check the file. But thanks for sharing the virustotal.com website and from now onwards I will do that.
thanks smot
I have not seen this link to google search virus before. Are there anyone out there who happened to face the same problem? Massiah, please post your solution if you found one. Thanks
Hello guys,
I have been monitoring this page since this past weekend. This happened to me about 2 weeks ago and I have been living with it since. I am very computer savy and have NEVER had a virus or any spyware go beyond my control/ability to remove.
Trying to think back a couple of weeks, I would have to say I noticed the problem after I installed the Grease Monkey plugin for Firefox. I have a couple user created scripts and I assume this is the problem. I have disabled Grease Monkey, however the problem still exists.
I am pretty sure this is NOT an operating system wide issue as it ONLY affects Firefox at this time.
I have been using the "No Script" plugin for over 3 years, and it completely blocks whatever page is trying to load.
Also, I've noticed that different pages are being pulled from Google search results.
The first time I noticed this was when using the mouse wheel as a button to open a link in a new tab. When I loaded the new tab, No Script would jump in and block whatever was going on. But, back at the same search results page in Google, if I used the left mouse button, it would load the page just fine.
However, recently, maybe starting two days ago, now also using the left mouse button to load links from Google's search results is also causing some strange pages to load, and No Script crushes it every time.
This is rather annoying as the only solution sometimes is to alt+d and type the entire URL out by hand.
I have been checking this page for updates, I will continue to do so as well as provide any feedback I come across.
Good luck to us all!
BigMike
Massiah,
Are you using the Firefox Addon called "Better YouTube 00.4.3"? See https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/6460
I just uninstalled this and so far so good, Google seems to be working perfectly fine.
I have encountered another problem. My most visited webpage on this machine has stopped working, however there is nothing wrong with the site and other machines on this same network are accessing it just fine. But when I try to access it as "http://www.sitename.com" I get a "Connection Timed Out" error saying that the server is not responding. But as soon as I enter "http://sitename.com" suddenly it loads just fine.
Are you also experiencing this?
Thanks for sharing it
No I didn't faced this type of problem as because I don't use firefox. Recently I am using firefox and thanks once again to sharing it..
Update..
It is back. Therefore it was not related to the Firefox Grease Monkey plugin as I had originally stated.
Interesting you are using IE then? I never use IE, but I will test it out. If this is true, then it is not a software issue but rather a windows issue, which would suck.
Mike
Update..
You are correct, this happens in my IE 6 as well as my IE 7. Searching google for 67.210.14.44 I came up with 3 more sites but the response is the same as here, "just scan your computer" "that's not a virus". This virus is so new no one knows about it.
The only reason why I found this website is because you were the very first person to write a page regarding this problem. Slowly we will see more and more pages coming out, so hopefully this will gather more attention soon and a solution will be found.
Regarding Spybot S&D, I have ran scans the past 3 days in a row and it doesn't find anything. But get this, the last time I updated my Spybot was about 2 weeks ago. So, naturally earlier this week I wanted to check for updates, but ever since roughly 1 week ago my Spybot can no longer be updated. I get the following error: "Error retrieving update info file!"
So I am assuming this virus has also blocked the address Spybot uses for updates. I am going to download an update direct from their website and then just patch it locally. I'll report back if I find anything.
BigMike
WOW
I can NOT access http://www.spybotupdates.biz/updates/files/spybotsd_includes.exe nor any page on that domain nor the safer-networking.org domain.
Here is what I get when I try to browse to http://www.safer-networking.org:
----------------------------------------------
Address Not Found
Firefox can't find the server at www.safer-networking.org.
The browser could not find the host server for the provided address.
* Did you make a mistake when typing the domain? (e.g. "ww.mozilla.org" instead of "www.mozilla.org")
* Are you certain this domain address exists? Its registration may have expired.
* Are you unable to browse other sites? Check your network connection and DNS server settings.
* Is your computer or network protected by a firewall or proxy? Incorrect settings can interfere with Web browsing.
----------------------------------------------
But get this, it is not like some timed out error, this happens INSTANTANEOUSLY when I try to load that page. It is VERY fast to load the "Page Load Error" page. This is not a problem with the internet, but rather something is blocking that website from getting to this computer.
The EXACT same thing happens with Internet Explorer. It says, "The page cannot be displayed"
So I searched my windows hosts file and safer-networking.org is NOT being blocked in there.
Very interesting. Someone did a nice job with this virus :) I am starting to get worried now if this is a trojan virus then they could very well be kelogging us also.
I am going to get the spybot updates from another machine here and copy it over and get spybot updated. I will be right back...

HEY GUYS! TAKE A LOOK AT THIS:
http://forums.techguy.org/malware-removal-hijackthis-logs/788996-redirected-when-using-ie7-google.html
I will try this later tonight and will keep this page updated with my results. WOW it might just be a fix!
BigMike
OK, that did the trick! Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware program found 5 viruses on my computer and now everything is back to normal.
I am extremely disappointed that Spybot couldn't fix this. I really had very strong confidence in Spybot until now. Well.... I guess one program alone isn't enough sometimes.
So for anyone in the future, use the above link I posted for the solution.
Also, the virus was installed Dec 27th of last year, so I was off by about a week.
Thanks and take care
BigMike
Thanks for sharing your opinon, onle google search engine is affected no other search engine is affected like msn, live, yahoo, ask and so on.
My question why only google search engine, it the virus is made other search engine or microsoft has made it to damage google search engine and forcing people to use their search engine
This likely occurs because your host file has been changed by the virus. Visit http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hosts_file to find location of the hosts file and try to edit if it was infected by the virus.
